Who does what
Which profiles you need, and what to ask each one
We keep no directory and take no commission from anyone. What we do know is what to ask each speciality so the plant is not born closed.
The underlying problem
Almost every vendor on an industrial project is good at their job. The problem is not quality: it is that each optimises their own scope, and keeping the plant open to AI is in nobody's scope.
The list
What to ask each speciality
One line per profile. If you take only one thing from this page, make it the integrator's.
| # | Profile | What to ask them | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Process engineering | That the plant balance includes on-site compute consumption, not just process load. | |
| 02 | EPC and civil works | That the structure reserves load and openings for technical rooms not yet defined. | |
| 03 | Electrical installation | That the grid connection carries explicit headroom and conduit is oversized by default. | |
| 04 | Automation integrator | That they explain in writing how process data leaves, in what format and under what licence. | |
| 05 | Equipment vendors | That the purchasing spec states who owns the machine's data before the order is signed. | |
| 06 | OT cybersecurity | That IEC 62443 zoning is designed with the plant stopped, not patched while producing. | |
| 07 | Validation and CSV | That protocols allow for a model inside the control loop, if the sector will require it. |
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Do you recommend specific vendors?
We keep no directory and take no commission from anyone: that would invalidate the judgement. What we do is help you write the requirements and read the offers you get.
How do I tell whether an integrator is genuinely AI-native?
By one question: ask them to explain how process data would leave the installation they propose, in what format and under what licence. Whoever has solved it answers in two minutes.
We are a provider and would like to appear here
Write to info@newaifactory.com. We do not sell placement, but we are interested in meeting anyone who has the data question solved.
Are you writing purchasing specs right now?
It is the highest-return moment on the whole list. Half an hour is enough.
